Her Majesty has broken the most strict royal rule by publicly expressing her political views concerning Brexit.
Although the Queen should remain neutral since she inherited the throne, as the Brexit tension heats up, she speaks up. An “impeccable royal source” reveals her Majesty’s views on the current political situation.
According to this source, the Queen thinks that the government has
“inability to govern”, and it’s deeply disappointed.
Apparently, she expressed her thoughts during a private event, following the resignation of David Cameron.
The source explains: “I think she’s really dismayed. I’ve heard her talking about her disappointment in the current political class and its inability to govern correctly.
She expressed her exasperation and frustration about the quality of our political leadership, and that frustration will only have grown.”
One Remainer decided to speak up on the issue: “One of the most treasured aspects of our constitution is that the Monarch remains above the party clash and this headline is either intentionally or as a consequence, absolutely tailored to bring the monarchy into the middle of the most controversial constitutional crisis of my lifetime.
“It’s totally to be deplored, the way it has happened.”
Professor Alex De Ruyter, Director of Birmingham City University’s Centre for Brexit Studies, adds that these developments “have the potential to hugely politicise the role of the Queen”.
He added: “It’s almost impossible to see the Queen attempting to override our elected Parliament, but ignoring the request of a sitting Prime Minister is problematic for her as well.”
